Preparatory courses for the exams

In addition to the Initial Professional Development (IPD) training, which is part of the legal criteria, IKM organises preparatory courses for its candidates for each of the three Professional Competence Examinations. The courses are held shortly before each exam, in the order that KPAP sets in the season calendar, and focus on the exam programme announced by KPAP, on the method for solving exercises and on the papers from past seasons. Their purpose is for the candidate to enter the exam with a clear picture of the requirements and with exercises solved under conditions similar to those of the exam.

Additional support for IKM candidates

The courses are open to candidates who are members of IKM and are attended at each candidate’s choice. Registration for the exams is made with KPAP on the basis of the legal criteria, regardless of attendance at the courses.

Course for the financial reporting exam

The applicable financial reporting framework in the Republic of Albania (the Law “On accounting and financial statements”, the National Accounting Standards and the International Financial Reporting Standards), the preparation of financial statements and their analysis, with exam-type exercises. The course usually lasts three days.

Course for the exam on civil, criminal, commercial and labour legislation

The elements of civil law, criminal law, commercial legislation and labour law that are relevant to the practice of the accounting profession: contracts and obligations, commercial companies and their bodies, employment relations, and criminal offences in the economic field. The course works with practical cases and exam-type questions.

Course for the tax legislation exam

Practical application of the legislation on taxes and levies: profit tax and income tax, value added tax, tax procedures, filing obligations and deadlines. The course includes calculation exercises and cases from practice.

How the courses are run

  • organised after KPAP announces the season calendar, a few weeks before the date of each exam;
  • usually three days for each exam, with intensive sessions;
  • led by trainers experienced in the relevant subject, including IKM members with long experience in the profession;
  • using as working material the papers that KPAP publishes for previous seasons, together with the answers.

Registration

Registration is made through the online form published with the announcement of each course, where the payment slip is also uploaded. The course fee is communicated to candidates by the Secretariat. Candidate members are notified by email of each upcoming course.
