Governing bodies

After graduating from the Faculty of Economy of the University of Tirana (FEUT) as an Economist in Finance in 1984, he worked as a lecturer and researcher. His postgraduate and doctoral studies relate to accounting, financial reporting, internal control and tax legislation. He obtained the academic degree “Doctor of Economic Sciences” in 1991, the title “Associate Professor” in 1998 and the title “Professor” in 2007.

He has served in leadership positions as Vice Dean of FEUT, Head of the Department of Accounting for 11 years, member of the Senate and of the FEUT Council, head of a subject group and member of the Academic Staff Promotion Committee.

He has published several core university textbooks at bachelor’s and master’s level, as well as over 10 professional texts in accounting and financial reporting. He is the author or co-author of dozens of scientific articles published in Albania and abroad and has presented papers at dozens of scientific conferences.

He has participated in, and led, several national and international projects organised by the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank. In 2006–2008 he was a reviewer of the translation of the International Financial Reporting Standards.

He is a certified trainer of IKM, IEKA and the Ministry of Finance for IFRS, the National Accounting Standards (SKK) and accounting, with extensive experience as a member of various governing boards and of professional accounting and business organisations. He was a member of the National Accounting Council (KKK) from 1999 to 2013 and a member of the National Accounting Steering Committee, and he has been a member of the Tax Council since 2013.

He obtained his professional certificate as a Certified Accountant in 1998. He chaired the Managing Council of the Institute of Certified Accountants of Albania from 2000 to 2013 and has chaired it again since 2017.

He has over 20 years of work experience as Finance Director and member of the Board of Directors of one of the leading insurance companies. For 19 years he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Economy, University of Tirana, teaching Principles of Accounting, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Management and Financial Informatics.

He graduated from FEUT as an Economist in Finance in 2000 and completed a Master’s degree in Accounting in 2008. He completed the International Management Development study programme at Zeppelin University, Germany, in 2017, and the International Management study programme at ESMT Berlin, Germany, in 2018.

He obtained his professional certificate as a Certified Accountant in 2003. Since 2021 he has been Vice Chairman of the IKM Managing Council. From 2017 to 2021 he was Chair of IKM’s Quality Control Committee (now the Quality Management Committee) and, since 2020, he has been a member of the Examination Commission (KPAP) at the Public Oversight Board (BMP).

He completed his studies in 1986 in Finance–Accounting at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana. He has worked in various sectors of the economy, as well as in state institutions. He has held the title of Certified Accountant since 2000.

In 2017 he was certified by the National Accounting Council and the World Bank in the National Accounting Standards and the International Financial Reporting Standards. In 2019 he was certified by AACR in the Development of Continuing Education Programmes for Professional Organisations, as well as in the Continuing Education Programme for Internal Control and Accounting Information Systems.

He has been an IKM member since 2003 and is a member of IKM’s Education and Professional Qualification Committee. He currently holds the position of Executive Director of the Institute of Certified Accountants of Albania.
